Our New Pavilion
There were a lot of ideas generated at the October “Parish Meting” in regard to uses for our pavilion. Outside of the obvious use for church picnics, the following suggestions were made that we are open to at this time.
· Camp-outs
· Diocesan events
· Speakers (A.C.E. related or otherwise)
· Liturgies
· Bonfires with hot dogs, etc
· Movie Night
· Adult socials
· Bingo Night
· Teen/Youth activities
· Retreats
· Recreational (volleyball, corn hole, bocce, horseshoes)
These certainly can get the creative juices flowing!
& #160; As previously announced until the year 2012 we are limiting the events held in the pavilion to “parish sponsored.” It was felt by the advisory board that we need that time frame to allow our groups to set forth activities/functions. There were many other ideas suggested at the parish meeting (family reunions, birthday parties, graduation parties and similar events). Following this interim period we’ll be able to gauge to what degree we’ll be able to open it up and what regulations will be in place.
& #160; In the meantime, we are full steam ahead for the July 18 picnic. Many new ideas were proposed at the recent planning meeting. In addition to the usual picnic fare (burgers, dogs, etc.) we’re going to have a catered meal available. We’ll have music and an increased number of games/tournaments for the entire family to enjoy. Make sure you save the date.
& #160; The company engraving the bricks/pavers for the courtyard has our order. There’s a 6-8 week time frame that they need for production. That should give us plenty of time for our projected spring installation (at the mercy of the weather). The pavilion committee will meet again on February 23 to arrive at some design layout conclusions. The “Gold Post” order will be placed within the next few days.
